How To Score Celebrity Airport Style (And Still Be Comfortable)
I don’t know about you, but I’m always amazed by how perfect celebrities manage to look at the airport. Whether they take a red-eye from New York to Los Angeles or a 5 hour plus transatlantic journey, they still somehow appear stylish and put together when it comes time to disembark. Celebrity airport style is some sort of magic.
As for the rest of the world, our travel outfits aren’t usually the biggest priority. What we wear to the airport can get overlooked when we’re focused on packing suitcases, checking in for flights, bringing all the right documents, and making sure everything is planned out. Personally, I don’t start thinking about my trip attire until a few days before I’m set to leave. By that point, I’m most concerned with being comfortable during my journey. I won’t lie though; style does enter my mind as I plan out my outfit. I don’t want to look like a total slob on the plane, but I don’t want to sacrifice comfort in the name of fashion either.
This is where celebrity airport style comes into play. Celebs are the perfect inspiration for what to wear to look chic and stay cozy on a trip. Here are a few outfit ideas that will help you look pulled together for your next adventure.
Outfit #1: Oversized Sweater + Chic Leggings + Blanket Scarf + Slip-On Boots
This is a go-to formula for me. While I’m generally not a fan of wearing leggings in public, I make an exception for traveling. Comfort is key, and as long as I have a big sweater on top, I don’t really mind. This outfit is perfect if you’re traveling during the colder months or if you get chilly on the plane. If, on the other hand, you think you’ll get too hot, make sure to slip a light t-shirt or tank top on underneath. This way, you can lighten up easily. Plus, you can always drape your big scarf around your shoulders for a bit of extra warmth.
I love wearing leggings with boots to give the outfit a bit of extra style. Just make sure you choose boots that you can get off and on easily. You don’t want to spend half an hour at security while you struggle to get your shoes on again!
Outfit #2: Maxi Dress + Long Cardigan + Flats
This option is great if you’re taking a shorter flight or traveling to somewhere warm. Maxi dresses are such an easy, no-fuss style. Pick one made from a light material for extra comfort on the plane. Then, throw a loose, long cardigan on top for an extra layer of warmth. This will combat any chills you get on the plane. You can always take it off and throw it in your carry-on once you land.
As for the shoes, flats are the way to go with this look. They slip off and on with ease and look perfect with maxi dresses.. Just be sure to pack a pair of socks in your handbag if you want to take your shoes off on the plane.
